Benefit fraud

We take benefit theft very seriously. Deliberately withholding information that affects a claim is stealing.

Benefit fraud includes not telling us about changes in circumstances such as:

  • living with a partner or other person in the house
  • getting other benefits or having savings or receiving an inheritance
  • starting work or other earnings
  • changing address
